About
Wargal Temple has the famous Sri Vidya Saraswathi and is located with scenic background and has a valley around this hill with the unique rock formation. Here, there is a temple dedicated to Lord Shani with a large statue about 3 feet tall which is one of the largest statues of the Shani Lord in Telangana.
The hillock of Wergal has multiple temples on the same hill.
1. Lord Shiva Temple
2. Lord Shanishwara Temple
3. Sri Vidya Saraswati temple
4. Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi Temple
5. Few Vishnava Temples now completely damaged without any mola vigrahas in it.
History
This temple complex was a brain child of Sri Yamavaram Chandrashekhara Sharma who was a scholared follower for goddess Saraswathi and by profession he is an astrologer and a vastu expert. Being a businessman, he has multifaceted activities to his credit.
In 1998, the process of building the temple above was activated under the group that was called as Satya petam seva samethi. This committee members started searching for a convenient place to build a temple.
In the end, they chose Wargal Hill, where the 400-year-old Shambu Deva Temple was located. This temple is 2 feet below ground level and you have to crawl the ground for a few feet to reach the main Shiva lingam. This temple was surrounded by two ancient Vaishnaya temples built during or before the rulers of Kakatiya. There is a large stone Victory pillar about 30 feet high. The Vicotry pillar has statues of Lakshmi goddesses, Lakshmana, Rama, Sita and many others.
On Vasantha Panchami of 1989, pooja was executed and the first stone was laid for the temple of Sri Saraswathi Devi. It should be noted this day they had only Rs. 2700 only. When they began to spread about the construction process of Saraswathi Temple donations poured out like a flood. In this way, the construction process continued unabated with the help of Lord Saraswathi.
In 1992, Sri Sidi Sri Vidya Nrusinha Bharati Swamy who was a Magashudda Trayodashi Petadipati laid the foundations of the statues of Sri Vidya Saraswathi Devi goddesses and statues of Lord Shani. This temple was later dedicated to Kanchi Petam and a Vedic school was began in 1999 by Sri Shankara Vijaya Saraswathi of Kanchi Petam and in 2001 Lakshmi Ganapathi was inaugurated. Expenditures exceeded 1 crore of rupees for the construction of this temple . The temple has 13 acres and a half of land on the east side were a hospital, a park, a library were planned in their future plans.
Daily Poojas and Procedures
Every day, 100 people received free food to visit the temple in a large dining room of the temple complex. During the Dussehra period, thousands of devotees visit the temple every day. The Dussehra Temple begins with Vigneshwara Pooja. Maha Abishekam Navaratri Kalasha Sthapana Sha Chathu Sha Pacha Pooja, Kukumarchana, Mantha Pushpam, Arathi were performed. The last day of Vijayadarshanam goddesses Saraswati is decorated for the devotees.
Pooja for Lord Shani A special pooja will be made on each Shani Trayodashi who arrives on Saturday. The poojas for Lord Shani started in the morning at 5 am, starting with Japam and Ganapathi pooja, Homam will be played with Tarpana to Lord Shani. Lord Sheni will be worshiped with oil called Taila Abishekam. The Homam for Lord Sheni will be finished at 12:00 with Arathi, Poornahuthi, etc. This is a very big event for this temple that attracts 1000 devotees from all over the telangana and other places in India.
