Lumbini Park is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Hyderabad. It was developed by the HMDA (Hyderabad Urban Development Authority) in the year of 1994. This is a Perfect place for relaxation and amusement. Since it is located in heart of hderabad, this place has significant number of visitors everyday.
The name Lumbini Park is given to this place on behalf of Lord Buddha’s birth place. However, the park was renamed as the T. Anjaiah Lumbini Park in the year of 2006.
Located very close to the famous standing statue of Lord Buddha and Hussain Sagar Lake, Asia’s largest man-made lake, Lumbini Park is worth a visit. It is very popular among children. For children there are fun rides. It’s more like a mini amusement park right in the middle of town, by a beautiful lake.
One of the main attractions of Lumbini Park is the giant clock at the entrance to the park which has been designed with different types of colorful flowering plants. Along with seasonal flowering plants, a wide variety of rocks and cacti, the park also has plenty of options to keep kids entertained. The musical fountain and water cascades attract everyone. The sight of water rushing skyward, making a water screen where the history of Hyderabad is shown is something few of us have seen before. It is an experience in itself. The best part about the laser show is that just the 3D. You will see a city created in 3D directly in a park.
5.Laser Show and Musical Fountain
The laser show timings at Lumbini park are different from weekdays to weekends for weekdays only one laser show will be held at 7.15 pm, while on weekends it is held two times 7.15 pm and 8.30 pm respectively. The tickets for laser show are priced at Rs. 50 per person. If interested in musical fountain show, you can watch it at 6.30 PM to 8 PM.
Musical fountain is another thing that is not to be missed. Musical fountain is held at 6.30 P.M. and 8 P.M respectively.
6.Boating
From the park, one can also go boating to the Buddha statue in the middle of the Hussain Sagar lake. For pleasure boating, there are two choices available to visitors. If you are interested, you can hire a speedboat from Lumbini Park and enjoy an exciting ride in the lake. Life jackets will be offered for safety purposes. Another option is the ferry ride, which takes tourists to the statue of Lord Buddha in the center of the Lake.
Tourists as well as residents of Hyderabad are seen frequently at Lumbini Park for its boating facilities on the waters of Hussain Sagar Lake. The price of the boat at Lumbini Park is reasonable for the experience it offers. The cost of navigation to Lumbini Park is Rs. 40 per person for the ferry and Rs. 50 per person for the speedboat.
